The Fabrication Support Unit (FSU) provides many support services to specifiers, architects, designers and fabricators.
This provision includes:

• bespoke fabrication design service;
• project liaison and co-operation.
Background
Originated in 1955 to explore and develop the fabrication techniques necessary to postform laminate, the FSU has, over the past half century, been an industry leader in the development of laminate, in fabrication techniques, and in training.
From working closely with the industry's most experienced users of laminate over this period, the FSU has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in laminate development, application and fabrication.
The unit is unique within the UK laminate industry, and its extensive service is readily available to users of Formica® laminate.
Training and advice
The role of the FSU today is predominantly one of training and advice. It provides to specifiers and users of laminate, from all industries, the information and training that they need to make the best use of Formica laminate.
We run regular training courses on many subjects. Technical advice, drawing on our comprehensive and up-to-date experience, is available at the end of the phone, by email or by post.
Product development
The FSU's fully operational workshop offers the facility for prototype development and construction, the creation of specialist pieces, and a bespoke design service for three dimensional elements.
These services have been widely used by a variety of designers, from furniture to jewellery and from retail interiors to commercial applications. The FSU makes ideas come to life, adding practical experience and product knowledge to design concepts.
