Formica presents its ultimate proposals at the furniture fair of Stockholm

March 2009 |
| Yet another year, Formica Group, main manufacturer, designer and distributor of decorative lamination and other cladding materials for architectural solutions, furniture and interior design, has presented its latest novelties at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, the most important in Scandinavia, held on 4 to 8 February.
|
Among these, one must emphasise Sculpted, the exclusive finish inspired by carved wood, especially conceived for vertical surfaces and the result of constant innovation by the Formica Group in development of designs and textures and the search for new visual and tactile sensations. Sculpted is set within the present trend in seeking engraved, polished and sculpted surfaces.
Another star collection at Stockholm was Solid Surfacing, recently renewed, with multiple application in the home as well as in commercial spaces: from horizontal surfaces such as ledges, tables and furniture, counters, kitchen tops, basins and sinks, to vertical surfaces such as murals, walls or plinths.
On the other hand, at this edition of the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Formica Group aimed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the emblematic design Virrvarr, by Sigvard Bernadotte, a classic author who is indispensable in development and evolution of industrial design in the Scandinavian countries. Thus, a tender was called to homage that creation, the winner of which was the proposal by Louise Holmström, titled Forest (see photograph).
